Play Therapy

What’s it all about?

Play therapy is a form of counseling or psychotherapy that uses play as a medium for communication and expression, particularly for children.
In play therapy, our trained therapists use play and creative activities to help children explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
It can be used to help children deal with a wide range of challenges, including but not limited to:

How does this therapy work?

During play therapy sessions, children are encouraged to engage in various types of play, including imaginative play, arts and crafts, storytelling, and games.
This allows them to express themselves in ways that might be more accessible and natural for their age and developmental level.
Our therapists will observe the play and use the themes and interactions that emerge as a way to understand and address underlying issues.
The goal is ultimately to help the child process their feelings, develop their problem-solving skills, learn to regulate their emotions, and feel more capable of coping with challenges!
